As a Black woman, I've experienced countless awkward interactions with people who, I believe, often meant well but still found ways to slip in a microaggression or, at times, make an outright racist remark or gesture. I wanted to find a way to share these experiences that could resonate with other women who have faced similar situations while also encouraging reflection from those who may unknowingly recognize themselves in these interactions. I landed on creating AI-generated comic strips as a way to tell these stories in a more approachable and engaging format, using the project as an opportunity to strengthen my AI image prompting and visual storytelling skills. My hope is that these comics spark conversation, foster empathy, and remind others who have experienced similar moments that they are not alone.
